A few projects of interest.

Emotional Awareness & Emotion Regulation

How do individual differences in facets of emotional awareness (i.e., attention towards emotions and clarity of emotions) relate to people’s ability to manage their emotions? What factors play a role in how these constructs relate to one another?

Affective Synchrony

How might synchrony in people’s experienced and displayed affect relate to interpersonal outcomes and health? What cultural differences, if any, are there in how people experience affect together?

Daily emotions & app-based Assessments to predict affective experiences

How might we be able to leverage advancements in non-invasive wearable technology to predict and understand affect in daily life?

Emotion beliefs and values

How do people’s values and beliefs around emotions relate to their daily experiences of emotions? Furthermore, how do these values relate to the management of emotions and relate to both well-being and interpersonal relationships?
